Wedding Photography
One of the most common questions I am asked is "How much will a Wedding Photography
Event cost?" For that question there is no definitive answer without me asking several questions first.
1. How many people in the Wedding Party?
2. Where (how far away) is the wedding?
3. Will there be a formal "Rehersal" and do they want photography done for the Rehersal?
4. Where and how long is the Wedding Reception to be?
Also before answering the question I offer the following information:
The Wedding Couple will "own" the original images. They will recieve a DVD data disk containing all images they select for proofs (this number of images is usually in the hundreds). Why is this important? Many photographers do not release the prints for copy services and even fewer "give" the digital images to the client. I believe that once the job is done and paid for, you shouldn't have to come back to me for each additional print you want after the fact. The Wedding Couple will recieve from 75 to 150 prints and a Wedding Album included in the cost of the Wedding Photography. Now for the "answer" to the original question...on the low end $1200, but the average cost is about $1700 including a rehersal, ceremony and reception. The cost can vary depending on the size and "style" of the Wedding Album selected, as well as the number in the Wedding Party, location of Wedding Ceremony and Wedding Reception.
Engagement Announcements
The portraits are usually done well in advance of the actual wedding date. If planned for in advance of the Wedding Date, this will give a bride and groom to be a more relaxed setting as well as provide the bride with a session where hair styles and makeup can be reviewed for photographic appearances the day of the actual wedding (a photographic rehersal, if you will).
Photographic Retouching
All professionally shot photographs are "retouched" prior to printing. the only exception to this rule is for "news services" photos. Portraits, Wedding Photography, Family Portraits are all processed (color and lighting adjusted) and then professionally retouched (airbrushed in previous technology). Retouching generally consist of erasing stray hairs, removing facial blemishes and generally softening the tone and complexion of the skin. |
